Job Title: lab tech
Department: Laboratory
Reports To: Director
FLSA Status:
- Manages operations of patient samples with regards to in-house and outsourced lab-work.
General Accountabilities
- process all incoming and outgoing lab request
- familiar with use of both chemistry machines as well as how to do dilutions if needed
- ability to read sample slides and log findings in appropriate location on patients electronic medical record.
- log outgoing samples and attach results as the become available onto the patients electronic medical record.
- go over results with clients after doctors review and notations have been made.
- perform required maintenance on all lab equipment
- keep a count of all inventory within the lab; adding inventory needed to the want list
- ability to stain and read sample slides as directed according to training
Job Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Associate’s Degree Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
- Minimum Experience: 3 Years Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience
- Minimum Field of Expertise: ALT Certification and experience in veterinary hospital kennel or animal research laboratory
- Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree
- Preferred Experience: 5 Years
- Preferred Field of Expertise: Biological Science degree, ALT Certification and experience in veterinary hospital kennel or animal research laboratory
